Staycation at the Hilton Hawaiian Village

Besides family, what’s one thing everyone has been missing terribly during this pandemic? Travel! I know I can’t complain... living in Hawaii is an absolute blessing, especially during the past year when there hasn’t been much to do. But that doesn’t mean we still don’t miss traveling and exploring too!

Our family recently stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which was the perfect little escape and just what we needed to kick off 2021. Being able to take our son to a resort for the first time, where we felt safe, was such a wonderful experience. Whether you’re a local like myself in need of a staycation, or a visitor coming to Oahu, I can’t recommend the Hilton Hawaiian Village enough!

We stayed in the Rainbow Tower in an ocean front junior suite. There was a king bed, a crib for Ledger, two lanais, plus ample room for luggage, baby gear, etc. The view alone was absolutely jaw-dropping!

I was definitely a little nervous going to a new place with so many strangers because of COVID, but I was very impressed by the rules and regulations laid out by the hotel. Masks and social distancing were required, only one party per elevator ride and contactless checkout were just a few of the regulations they’re enforcing to make everyone safer and more comfortable, among others things. There are a few other changes the hotel has made, such as no room service and maid service was available upon request (we opted out of this), which I was thankful for - just for peace of mind.

Although there were a few changes to some of the amenities, there was still endless fun to be had. There are countless activities you can do right at the hotel! They have three pools, a lagoon with water activities, beach chairs & umbrellas, multiple catamaran options, shopping, dining, a spa and so much more! We rode the aqua-cycles, went on a morning catamaran Diamond Head sail, and spent tons of time at the beach and lagoon.

The highlight of our staycation was definitely the catamaran sail! They’ve changed the maximum capacity on the boats to just 20 people, but there was only 11 on our tour. We saw sea turtles and so many dolphins, which my son loved! You can check out a video of the dolphins swimming on my Instagram here. This was just an hour sail, which was perfect for a toddler.

Hilton Hawaiian Village truly has something for everyone. Whether you have small children or if you’re looking for a romantic getaway for two, this is the spot to be! Now is such a great time to visit because you’ll get to enjoy beautiful Waikiki beach with very few people around you. Right now Hilton Hawaiian Village is offering Kama’aina (local) rates for as low as $189 per night, as well as great rates for non-residents when you book direct at www.HiltonHawaiianVillage.com.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village hosted our stay in exchange for our honest review.
