A Healthy Obsession: Sumo Citrus®

An obsession that’s good for you? Yup! I’ll never forget the first time I tried Sumo Citrus®... So sweet, so easy to peel, and so addicting! For all my fruit lovers out there (does anyone actually not like fruit??), if you haven’t tried Sumo Citrus yet, you’re seriously missing out! This enormous orange is beyond tasty, peels with ease, has no seeds, leaves no mess, is kid friendly and mama approved too.

Sumo Citrus is a variety of oversized mandarins known as “dekopon” in Japan, and is celebrated for its sweetness and distinctive “top knot.” Although the fruit is originally from Japan, Sumo Citrus fruit is now grown in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The Sumo Citrus season is only from January to April, so now is the time to grab some and stock up before they’re gone until next year!

Not only is this fruit incredibly tasty, but it’s also healthy too which is definitely a win-win, especially as a mom. Our whole family loves Sumo Citrus, and the added vitamins make it a staple in our home during the fruit’s season. Keeping our immune systems strong and healthy seems to be everyone’s top priority these days, and giving yourself a boost of Vitamin C is the perfect way to do that. Just one Sumo Citrus contains 163% of the daily recommended amount of Vitamin C you need!

Be sure you don’t miss this season! Click here to find out where you can buy Sumo Citrus at a grocery store near you.
